Nubian Dairy Goats in Michigan since 2005

Welcome..............

We are located 40 miles North West of Detroit, Michigan, on a ten acre farm with lots of pine trees.

Our goal is to breed for powerful, tall, long-bodied animals with elegance, with excellent breed character, strong mammary systems and gentle disposition. We strive for long level lactations, and the ability to have extended lactation.
For our goal we started with the fine animals from the Saada herd in Wyoming and added some from Lynnhaven (Kastdemur's blood lines)  and Longman's.
We hope to participate in DHIA in 2010. Our first Linear Appraisal was in 2006, and we are planning to continue every year, or at least every other year, because we believe that this is the best way to evaluate our breeding program.
Records will be posted at each doe's and buck's page. Although our animals would be very competitive in the show ring, we have not attended any shows, so our animals can not bring home any diseases as herd health is more important to us then blue ribbons.
The herd is tested regularly for CAE either through WADDL or Biotracking. Test results can be viewed upon request. We follow strict CAE prevention which means that all kiddings are attended. Kids are immediately removed, and raised with heat treated colostrum and pasteurized milk.
Since our herd is abscess free, we only test occasionally for cl, and we have had only negative results.

Beltane March 30st a week from her due date

Update: Beltane kidded April 3rd with quads, two bucklings and two doelings. Pictures from the kids are on her site.
One buckling is still available, please contact me if you have any questions.

Farm visits are always welcome, but please make an appointment first.

The Light of Integrity

"The soul is dyed the color of it's thought.  Think only on those things that are in line with your principles and can bear the full light of day.  The content of your character is your choice.  Day by day, what you choose, what you think, and what you do is who you become, your integrity is your destiny...it is the light that guides your way."
